Client:  The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption

Scope of Project:
Four windows each 8 ft wide located one each on the four sides of this contemporary cathedral.  Each of the four side windows rises 140 feet and turns at right angles on the ceiling to form a cross 140 ft overhead.

Techniques Utilized:  
1" thick glass dalles, cut and faceted by hand and set into a matrix or 3/4" epoxy

For many years the professor of Visual Design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he expounded his design philosophy by editing a set of six books of essays by a variety of authors: The Vision and Value Series.  Color is the main ingredient of his abstract designs.  A number of his designs were transformed into faceted stained glass by Willet Hauser.  Among them are the designs for St. Mary's and the Red Line Harvard Subway Station in Boston, Massachusetts.
