Franklin Watkins 1894-1972


Franklin Watkins was primarily known for his paintings, which are found in many of the more prominent museums in the United States.  He is found in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, the Vatican Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Phillips Collection, among others. He also served as an instructor at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
